2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness Approved by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB), this course provides two hours of Site Safety Training (SST) credits that can be applied toward a full SST card. This course details the effects of drug and alcohol use/abuse on the human body and mind and describes specific substance abuse risks related to the construction industry. Learners will recognize the consequences of drug abuse and be informed on actionable steps that can be taken to avoid working under the influence.

Upon completing the course, learners will be able to:

– Describe the adverse effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
– Identify problems associated with substance abuse and addiction
– Recognize, avoid and prevent adverse consequences of substance use and abuse
– Explain how working under the influence of alcohol and illicit drugs can be avoided
– Identify issues of chemical dependency that may negatively affect the lives of loved one
